1990年代起雙年展與三年展這類型的國際藝術節在全球迅速擴展，這股風潮也席捲亞洲地區，並以1995年創辦的光州雙年展為開端。

International art festivals known as biennales and triennales saw dramatic expansion worldwide in the 1990s, with numerous festivals being held in the Asian region as well, beginning with the Gwangju Biennale established in 1995.

這些藝術節討論的議題涵蓋當代藝術史的全球性再詮釋、各種邊緣群體的身分認同政治、反思複雜的全球局勢，以及區域歷史的再檢視。面對永續發展的挑戰，當今國際藝術節的正當性應建立於何處？本講座將從歷史與實務的角度，探討這一重要課題。

These festivals host diverse discussions including the global reinterpretation of contemporary art history, various identity politics, reflections of complex global situations, and reexaminations of regional histories. As all art festivals face questions of sustainability, what constitutes the legitimacy of international art festivals required today? This lecture will discuss this question from both historical and practical perspectives.

***主講者

片岡真實（Mami Kataoka）為國際知名策展人，曾擔任第9屆光州雙年展（2012）的共同藝術總監、第21屆雪梨雙年展（2018）以及愛知三年展的藝術總監(2022)，致力於提升亞洲當代藝術的國際能見度。2003年加入森美術館，目前為現任館長，自2023年4月起同時擔任日本國立藝術研究中心的主任。
