對立體事物的觀賞體驗，觀眾真正而非虛擬的在場，至關重要。以雕塑作品為例，它占據我們所處的空間，讓我們感受到它的存在。這也是複製技術高度發達的今日，平面的視覺傳達無法完全取代的感觸經驗。為使民眾認識本館典藏，《新進典藏展》（New Collection）展出本館最新入藏的立體作品，藉由所選作品媒材的多樣性，呈現藝術家豐富而多元的創作觀點。
It is important to experience three-dimensional art works on site.. Works of sculpture occupy the space we are in, and really allow us to sense their existence. In this age of highly developed duplication techniques, this sense is an emotional experience that two-dimensional visual transmission cannot fully replicate. New Collection introduces visitors to the museum’s collection, exhibiting the latest 3D works to be added, and the diversity of the selected media demonstrates the rich and varied creative perspectives of the artists
