出生於1934年的漢寶德，是人們所熟知的臺灣戰後第一代建築師，但較少討論以南方作為他的建築教育啟蒙之意義。本展覽提出的「南方」不只是地理位置，更是一種反主流的精神，改革臺灣建築教育、導入現代技法、保存古蹟風貌，都是此一南方精神的系譜脈絡。本展覽共分五大主題，呈現漢寶德在建築、博物館、古蹟保存、書法及美感教育的成就，透過建築模型、手繪圖、博物館標本、修復古物、書法裝置，以及漢寶德的收藏古物所映照的生活美感，本展亦呈現漢寶德所提出的「大乘建築觀」如何回應大眾的生活經驗，甚至延伸至博物館經營與文化政策上的實踐，以及他帶有時代使命感的「藝術教育救國論」，主張藝術與美感教育並非為了培養藝術家，而是為了培養具備感受力與判斷力的公民，展場結合國立臺南藝術大學師生創作與影音互動多元呈現，印證其藝術教育的核心理念，發掘出他獨到的「南方」文化視野。

Mr. Han Pao-Teh, who was born in 1934, is a well-known first-generation architect in postwar Taiwan. While the significance of the south as his architectural education is rarely discussed. The "South" presented in this exhibition is not only a geographical location, but also a counter-mainstream spirit. Reforming Taiwan's architectural education, introducing modern techniques, and preserving the aspect of historical sites are all part of this Southern spirit. This exhibition is divided into five themes, showcasing Mr. Han 's achievements in architecture, museums, historical site preservation, calligraphy, and aesthetic-sense. Through architectural models, hand-drawn drawings, museum specimens, restored antiquities, calligraphy installations, and the aesthetics of life reflected in Mr. Han 's collection of antiquities. This exhibition also showcases how Mr.Han's "Mahayana Concept of Architecture" responds to the everyday experiences of the public, extending even to museum management and cultural policy practices. It also presents his "art education for national salvation" theory, with a sense of historical mission, emphasizing that art and aesthetic education are not for cultivating artists, but for cultivating citizens with sensitivity and judgment. This exhibition combined with the diverse presentation of creations by teachers and students of Tainan National University of the Arts and audio-visual interaction, it confirms his core concept of art education and explores his unique "Southern" cultural perspective.
